December 2012: Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Volunteering Award
The Coastguard Rescue Service was one of 60 voluntary to be recognised in the Queen’s
Diamond Jubilee volunteering awards. Sixty awards for 60 years!
All CRS volunteers received a certificate to mark the honour.

We were called to attend to a rescue involving Falmouth Coastguard, the rescue helicopter
and RNLI following an incident in which four children and their father were swept
out to sea by a rip current at around 7.30pm - just one hour after lifeguards had
left the beach.
Fortunately no one was seriously injured - but the incident could easily have ended
